SUPCBR was born in the mind of the original owner Mathew when he first ventured onto a board in late 2011, he called his business the SUP’ping Caveman when he launched in 2013, before rebranding it to SUPCBR just before he sold in 2019.

Mathew’s legacy for SUPCBR was a strong brand based on safety and quality instruction, and firmly established relationships with the internationally recognised Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI) and quality SUP manufacturers including Red Paddle.

Today SUPCBR continues to be a mobile business and the original SUP Trailer housing SUP Boards can still be seen driving the streets of Canberra and Regional NSW.

Under new ownership SUPCBR holds a full licence to operate commercially on Lake Burley Griffin from the National Capital Authority (NCA) and holds a mooring permit that has allowed SUPCBR to establish a dedicated SUPFloatingGym at Yarralumla Beach.

While SUPCBR continues to be known as the leading SUP training school offering group and individual lessons from beginners to advanced SUP enthusiasts, within it’s SUPSchool, SUPCBR now has a string of SUPTourism activities, SUPExperiences for corporate and school groups and runs SUPFitness classes from Yoga to SUPBall.

SUPCBR is an active member of Outdoors NSW & ACT and is working to increase options for Outdoor adventures in the Canberra region, including activating Lake Burley Griffin.

SUPCBR is also the local retailer (instore at Fyshwick, mobile at Yarralumla Beach and online) for RedPaddle Original Products from Jackets to Paddle Covers!

SUP as a lifestyle and sport has grown in Canberra over these last 10 years and the strength of the SUP community can be witnessed on weekends at Yarralumla Beach. Please come and chat to us there every Sunday of our September to April Season.

Covid19, Fire, Hail, Floods, Note:

In 2020 hours after the new owner took the reigns SUPCBR pivoted to adjust to extreme Air Quality Index (AQI), threatening Fires and the ACT States of Emergency as well as the COVID19 restrictions alongside other Small Business in Australia.

SUPCBR worked through all that 2020, 2021 and now 2022 has thrown at us, and we are so thankful our customers patiently accepted classes being rescheduled and stood by us.

Season 2020-2021 started with a fantastic Spring season, classes begun with great attendance and students full of enthusiasm began their adventure to walk on water. 2021-2022 started a little slower with the impact of lock downs during the Pandemic removing all the spring and early summer trade, but during February & March students flocked back to begin their water journey with us.

Check us out on Visit Canberra!

We hope you will join us on the next stage of the adventure for SUPCBR.
