This gentle class will introduce you to the still inland waters of the Capital of Australia we will enter the Lake and board your SUP, lying both prone on the board and kneeling during the hour.

You will enjoy the sights of the Lake and learn many of the basic paddling skills from your kneeling position.

A great class to take to increase your confidence before you graduate to our Beginners class and standing on your Stand Up Paddle board.

All members of this class have chosen to take to the water gradually. Some may not have exercised in a while, some may not be familiar with swimming in still inland waters, others are new to Canberra and need to build their confidence of the environment.

All participants in this class want to enjoy lying on their board, front and back and doing some turns and paddling on their knees.

This class will only be for kneeling. If you feel you are more capable and will want to stand during the class please book into our standard Beginners 1 Class session.

These lessons will be held on a Saturday morning or in the afternoon on a Sunday a great time to come out and enjoy the water, bring a picnic, bring your friends.

The shore is easy to access on a Sunday afternoon and you will find you are in standing water most of the lesson. There may be a few families enjoying a picnic and a few kayaks around, but no distractions while you are learning to mount your board or dismount.
